Government Shutdown – Social Security

For social security disability claimants a government shutdown is a worst case scenario.  Claimants often wait 3 years or more for their disability claim to be decided.  A government shutdown will mean further delays.  At this point, however, all Social Security offices are open for limited services.  Social Security disability hearings that have been scheduled will proceed.  Applications for disability benefits and appeals are being accepted.  If you have questions about your claim, please feel free to contact us 352-402-0444 or visit our website at www.ocalaw.com

Update – for the time being it appears that the government shutdown has been averted.
