Skype Instructions

1. Go to skype.com

2. Click on Download.

3. Click on Download Now.

4. When new window pops up, click Run.

5. Once it has finished downloading, a new window will pop up, click Run. (If you have an older version of Skype, make sure it is closed.)

6. Next, the Setup Wizard will appear. Make sure the language selected is English and check the box that you agree to the terms and conditions of Skype. Then click Install.

7. Click Next.

8. Click Start Skype.

9. If you don't have a Skype Name and Password, click on Don't Have a Skype Name?

10. Fill out the required information, choosing a Skype Name and a Password. Then click the box that you have read and accept the Skype terms and conditions. Then click Next.

11. In the next window, type in your primary e-mail address and check whether you wish to receive Skype news and special offers. Then click Sign In.

12. Skype will open a separate window which will walk you through the set-up of Skype.

13. Skype will allow you to run a test call to make sure that your audio and visual (if you have a web camera) settings are working properly.

14. To add a contact, click on Tools, add a contact. When the window pops up, enter the person's e-mail address, Skype Name, or full name. You can also just add a phone number.

15. To make a call either single or double click on the contact's name and click on the green telephone icon. You can also right-click on the contact's name and click on Start Call. When you are finished speaking, use the red hang-up phone icon to hang-up.

16. You can start your webcam by clicking on Start Video on the bottom of the screen when you are in a call with someone or by right clicking on the contact's picture and choosing Start Video.

17. If the other person's video does not automatically display, click on menu under that person's name and choose "Hide Myself View."

18. If you wish to only chat with someone, right-click on the contact's name and click on Start Chat. You can also do this by single clicking on the contact's name and then going to the Chats menu and choosing Start Chat with Contact. This will open a window where you can type back and forth with the contact. Press the arrow icon or Enter to send a message.

19. To sign out, go to File, Sign Out.
